Alkaline water filters are used to remove alkaloids, or metals, from water and for various reasons. Alkaline water filters can be used to purify drinking water, water for cooking or it can even be used in scientific experiments. In fact, alkaline water filters are most commonly used by scientists who fear that alkaloids in the water they are using in their experiments will tamper with their results, allowing for an incorrect reading.
